Efficiency at scale – 4.3 billion bottles and cans per year, reliably managed. Statiegeld Nederland is responsible for the nationwide management of deposits on beverage packaging. Since 2011, the organization has worked with Tible to digitize and streamline this complex logistical process. The introduction of the HAWK platform in 2016 marked a major step forward in accuracy, scalability, and transparency.

Challenge

Managing deposits on billions of bottles and cans per year requires a system that is not only scalable but also flawless. Counting, settlement, reporting, and payment must all proceed accurately and quickly – in a chain involving thousands of retail outlets, depots, and wholesalers.

Tible developed and implemented a fully digital platform that forms the heart of the return and payment flow within the Netherlands' deposit system:
