A foodtruck festival brings together many different systems. Payment terminals, handhelds, scanners, tablets and smartphones all need to maintain a continuous, secure connection.
But a traditional wifi network isn't always the best solution for this. Large festival grounds, metal foodtrucks and containers make stable wifi coverage difficult. At the same time, public mobile networks can become overloaded during busy moments due to the large number of visitors.
Our challenge was therefore to build a temporary network that offers the same reliability as a permanent IT infrastructure.
For this project, Tible designed a network in which multiple internet connections were intelligently combined using Fortigate and Peplink routers. From there, the connection was distributed locally via a Private LTE network.
Where wifi tends to struggle with metal objects and other obstacles, Private LTE actually benefits from this environment. This resulted in a stable and secure connection across the entire festival grounds.
In addition, all operational systems ran on a shielded network. This kept payment terminals, scanners and other business-critical devices securely connected to the backend systems, without depending on public mobile networks.
