Reverse vending machines work. We see it every day in the Netherlands, Scandinavia, and other European markets with deposit return systems. But what if you want to bring that proven technology to new countries? That’s where the challenge lies: market research, local partners, technical support, and marketing that fits the local context. These questions marked the beginning of a new partnership between Tible and King’s Crest Global.

The Perfect Match

And as with every collaboration, we look for both a professional and a personal match. King’s Crest Head of Business Development Beth De Avila explains: “Working with companies focused on growth and innovative go-to-market strategies is where my passion lies. And the icing on the cake is when these companies are also purpose-driven. What sets Tible apart is their dedication to driving plastic waste reduction, fostering shared responsibility in the supply chain, and encouraging consumer recycling. It's a mission that truly resonates with me.”

What We Will Do

Together with the King’s Crest Global team, we will explore eight new markets:

  • Market research. Which countries are ready for deposit return systems? Where is legislation in development?
  • Technical partners. Identify local partners for installation, maintenance, and repair of RVMs.
  • Go-to-market strategies. Marketing and positioning per country, tailored to local retailers, municipalities, and consumers.

Why This Matters

We are joining forces to make recycling more accessible for both consumers and organizations. And that’s only possible when reverse vending machines are within reach and easy to use. Beth: “When consumers return their empty plastic bottles or cans, the RVMs should be ubiquitous and easy to use. And for the businesses that provide the RVMs, it's all about the right footprint that's stress-free, affordable, and has high uptime.”

From the Netherlands to the World

“With Merijn Boom and the team, we have the opportunity to create a broader impact well beyond Tible’s headquarters in the Netherlands,” Beth concludes.

Through its HAWK platform, Tible processes more than 4.3 billion recycling items per year in the Netherlands. That expertise, combined with Pure Recycle’s compact reverse vending machines and King’s Crest Global’s international go-to-market knowledge, forms a strong foundation for expansion.
