The world is digitizing at a rapid pace. Systems are increasingly interconnected, and organizations rely on digital processes every day to get their work done. This makes technology powerful, but also vulnerable. That’s exactly why the NIS2 directive was created — and we couldn’t be happier about it! Let us explain why.

What exactly does the NIS2 directive entail?

The NIS2 directive (short for Network and Information Security Directive 2) is a European regulation that requires organizations to improve their digital security posture.

The directive mainly focuses on vital sectors but has a broader scope than NIS1. While the previous law primarily applied to essential services, NIS2 also covers suppliers, IT companies, and other organizations that play a crucial role in the digital chain.

In short, it’s all about three key areas:

  • Risk management: organizations must actively identify and control risks.
  • Incident response: there must be clear plans in place to handle security incidents.
  • Awareness: executives and employees need to understand their role in cybersecurity.

In the Netherlands, this directive is currently being transposed into national legislation: the Cybersecurity Act (Cbw). This law is expected to come into effect in the second quarter of 2026 and will replace the current Network and Information Systems Security Act (Wbni).

Why this is good news

At Tible, we don’t see the stricter NIS2 requirements as a burden, but as an opportunity. They help us strengthen our security even further — something we work on every day at Tible. With clear incident response procedures, solid risk management, and regular security training, we build a digital environment where our clients can feel safe.

"At Tible, security is at the core of everything we do. We combine strict access controls and continuous monitoring of our IT solutions to deliver reliable technology," says our Security & Compliance Officer, Sebastiaan.

Tible Trust Base: security as a foundation

Every day, various companies rely on our systems. Naturally, privacy and information security are top priorities for us. Within our Tible Trust Base, we ensure optimal data protection — without compromising on usability or flexibility.

Through strict protocols and continuous monitoring, we prevent data breaches and cyber threats. By adhering to the highest security standards, we also provide a solid foundation for all our solutions.

We believe that technology is only valuable when it’s reliable. The NIS2 directive fits perfectly with that vision: clear rules, greater awareness, and higher standards for everyone.
